About Rotonger Burns, who is she?
Greetings, my name is Rotonger Burns , and I am a resident of the beautiful state of Texas. I am a practicing Registered Nurse and Cosmetologist. Over the years, I have been blessed to earn several educational degrees, but I always had the feeling that I was to be doing something other than my chosen field, in which I loved, to reach other people lives, but in a different way.
Along the years, I found out that I had a creative side in writing. A God given talent that could engage my audience in the particular scenes of my characters lives, as they moved from one scene to the next. It was if they were participating in the scenes themselves. I began to exercise the talent that God gave me by writing various biblical purposeful life lessons that had my audience yearning for more.. I was able to do this under the direction of my husband’s church where he pastored. I was the Youth Director and the children and the adults of our church were the actors and actresses of my plays. It seemed as if they were born to act out my plays as I directed them into every scene.
My husband, Charles and my two sons, Christopher and Cornelius has encouraged me to start writing in the gift that God so evidently blessed me with. My husband would always tell me your gift will make room for you..
I was born in Flint, Michigan on 5/22/1968 to Stella Mims and George Ray Richardson, and have lived in other cities around the world. My immediate family and my host of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and friends have often made me feel as if I could do and be anything I put my mind to. They knew that I would learn from my life struggles and make something beautiful out of the bad things that have happened to me. For that I give many thanks to you all. I was the kind of child that used her imagination to escape the harsh realities that I was facing as a child. I encountered many things that I have not been able to share with anyone, although I have hinted too many. The Lord blessed me to escape in the wonderful world of my mind to reach in there to get something positive that would enable me to keep going, even in the midst of storms. I have learned in adulthood that it was him guiding me all of those years. Thank you Lord.
I remember very vividly, while out to my grandparent’s home in the country, something was heavy on my mind, the particular subject, I cannot remember because I was just eight years old. However, I remember lying down on a warm autumn night on the ground looking at the sky. I began escaping in the wonders of my mind into a brand new world as I looked up at the great dark sky that was lit by the evening stars and the moon. I began to make cars, homes, animals and people out of the stars. I located the big dipper, little dipper, the north star in which I believed was the star that led the wise men and the shepherds to Jesus when he was a baby born in the manager. I remembered that story because my grandmother, Averlene taught it to me, when I was very young. As I grew up, I cherished the upbringing that my grandmother had instilled in me with her Christian values. It has help me hang on to the Lord’s guidance over the storms of life. This is the reason why I belief he led me to start writing to you all to give you some peace of understanding that you have a inherited escape from the various life lessons if only we would learn where I help come from and put all our trust in the mighty hand of the Lord.
